Although we have found documented claims for the discovery of this element in 1987, it was not until November of 1994 when the first atom of Ds-269 was produced with the related scientific paper being published in 1995. In August of 2003 the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) announced the official naming of this element.
